Art at the Main Gallery - Featured Artist - Remembrances WWI & WWII
Just a few images from my Show.
This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the WWII Normandy invasion, D-Day.
The 100th anniversary of WWI’s ending was celebrated in 2018. In 2016, I traveled to France, specifically to visit WWI memorials and battlegrounds in the Champagne region and WWII cemeteries and beaches in Normandy.
In Champagne, I spent time in American cemeteries, walked in the forest of Belleau Wood, stayed on the Marne, visited towns such as Château-Thierry, the closest to Paris the Germans had marched in WWI. This was the war to end all wars.
I am so happy that this painting received an Award of Merit. Lester Lee judged the exhibition. Many thanks to UWS-CVC and Lester Lee. The exhibition runs from July 13 - August 3.
This year's plein air event included the annual artists' dinner, an evening talk by juror, Spike Ress, and an opportunity to paint Sandy Ranch in addition to Capitol Reef National Park. The weather was incredible, making the painting fun and the light awesome.
I am so happy to be part of the 2018 UWS Spring Open Exhibition, currently on view at the Visual Art Institute in Salt Lake City. Visit the Exhibition May 11-June 15.
